82nd District House Candidates

Emil "Buddy" Altobello (D)*

Party: Democrat.
Age: 69.
Residence: Meriden.
Occupation: State Representative.
Education: High School.
Platform: Jobs. Jobs. Job training. Connecticut manufacturers are in immediate and future need of trained workers. We must accelerate our training and educational programs to help fill these good paying positions.
Other: Served on the City Council from 1987 to 1995. State Representative from 1995 to present with 100 percent attendance. Has not missed a City Council meeting or a session of the House in 31 years, Altobello said.

 
Ernestine Holloway (R)

Party: Republican.
Residence: Meriden.
Occupation: Outreach pastor for 30 years. Community activist.
Education: Licensed and ordained minister.
Platform: I believe in no tolls, the right to bear arms, local control of education, religious freedom, and making our community safer.
Other Party Endorsements: Independent Party.
Other: Meriden resident for 12 years, established the Hope on Hobart program, which has fed city families during the holidays. Implemented a backpack program for children’s school supplies and regularly hosts multi-neighborhood events. New York City - Served on NYC Tenants Association Board, NYC Housing Board, and Mayor David Dinkins' Youth Advisory Board; Meriden - Currently serves as a member of the Human Rights Advisory Board and the Commission for Persons with Disabilities.
