WETHERSFIELD — No question, some victories are of greater value than others.
Sheehan field hockey had one of the former on Tuesday.
Playing in Wethersfield against one of Central Connecticut’s best field hockey programs, the Titans chalked up a 1-0 non-conference victory.
It was Sheehan’s fourth straight win and fourth straight shutout. What the defense of Erin Villano, Finna Dubuc, Addy Molampy, Casey Ekstrom and Willow Pickerign didn’t shut down, goalie Rilee Reutenauer (7 saves) turned away.
Tess Parker had six saves at the other end for Wethersfield. The one shot she didn’t stop was unleashed by Mia Levesh, who scored in the third quarter off an assist from Isabella Raffone.
The loss was the first for the Eagles (3-1). Sheehan is now 4-1 heading into Thursday’s SCC game at North Haven. Daniel Hand looms on Friday in Madison.
