Wallingford police remind residents to lock cars after recent car break-ins

WALLINGFORD — Police are reminding residents to lock cars after several vehicles on the west side were broken into early Monday.

In some cases, money was stolen from the vehicles, Lt. Cheryl Bradley said. Some residents provided police with surveillance video of the suspects.

In one video, a man walked up to a car, attempted to open a door, and walked away after finding it was locked. In another incident, a suspect opened a garage door with an opener found inside an unlocked car, Bradley said.

Police are encouraging residents to lock cars and remove valuables.

“We need your assistance in stopping this activity,” Bradley said.
