Wallingford cancels outdoor Seasons of Celebration events on Saturday

WALLINGFORD — Event organizers announced that several town-sanctioned outdoor activities planned for the Saturday Dec. 3 Seasons of Celebration will be cancelled due to weather concerns.

The Holiday stroll planned for Friday night, as well as the indoor visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus scheduled from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday at the Wallingford Town Hall will continue as scheduled.

With heavy rain in the forecast, however, the Seasons of Celebration events and Frosty Parade meant to take place outside will no longer be held. They will not be rescheduled.

Rosalind Gallagher of the Wallingford Public Celebrations Committee said organizers collectively decided to call off the outdoor festivities, but encouraged residents to pay a visit to Santa Claus and provided instructions on how children can leave letters for him.

“There will be a special mailbox for the children to leave their letters, candy, and goody bags,” Gallagher said. “Please use the slider entry door on the Prince Street side of the building.”
