For those who do not know me, I am a local small business manager, member of the Middlefield Board of Finance and active Lions Club member.
As your State Representative, I’ll work to stop the “blank check” mentality and ever-increasing taxes at our Capitol. I will be a champion of economic development and good-paying jobs. I ask for your vote and support as we make 2021 a stronger year for Connecticut.
Please vote for Michael Skelps on Nov. 3.
Michael Skelps, 82nd House District candidateBacking Parker
John-Michael Parker, who is running for the 101st House District seat, does not follow his own agenda nor is he pressured in pursuing any political party’s persuasion. In fact, he has been endorsed by one of Connecticut’s largest bi-partisan organizations, the Independent Party.
Parker believes our government has three purposes: Taking care of people, preparing citizens to succeed and building communities where everyone can thrive.
John-Michael believes these purposes would support veteran benefits, support small businesses and continue to support a healthy state economy.
John-Michael won’t fix everything, but electing him will help move the state in a better direction; bringing new energy and new ideas to Hartford.

I believe that Mary Abrams deserves another opportunity to serve her constituents as Senator for the 13th District. She served us well in her first two-year term without the fanfare of self-promotion and without making campaign promises. Quite simply, she rolled up her sleeves and dug in to work collaboratively with her senate colleagues to get legislation enacted that helps people in the 13th District as well as everyone in the state. She serves as chair of the Public Health Committee, and vice chair of the education and veterans affairs committees. She is a fine public servant.
