National Weather Service Warns of High Fire Risk Again Wednesday

The National Weather Service issued a Red Flag Warning and Hazardous Weather Outlook in effect from 8 a.m. this morning until 8 p.m. this evening for Connecticut.

A red flag warning means weather conditions are conducive to rapid fire spread possible if ignition occurs. And NWS warns of high fire risk for today.

The Wednesday forecast calls for temperatures in the upper 50s with winds of 10-15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph and relative humidity as low as 21 percent.

A Fire Weather Watch will be in effect throughout the day into the evening. A Fire Weather Watch means critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur, according to the NWS.

Spotter activation is not expected at this time.
