SOUTHINGTON — A 21-year-old man faces charges after police said he sexually assaulted a minor at a local motel in August and September last year.
Carlos Padilla, 21, of 107 Martin Luther King Dr., New Britain, was charged April 12 with two counts each of first-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor.
Police received reports in October 2018 about the incidents and began investigating, police spokesman Lt. Stephen Elliott said.
Police submitted an arrest warrant to the Bristol State Attorney’s Office in January, and it was approved. At the time police served Padilla with the warrant, he was being held on seperate charges. According to the state judicial website, Padilla was charged with three counts each of first-degree sexual assault and illegal sexual contact by the New Britain Police Department. Those charges stem from Aug. 1, 2018.
