SOUTHINGTON – Southington High School closed Wednesday after a confirmed case of COVID-19 was reported Tuesday.
Superintendent Timothy Connellan sent a letter to staff and family in the Southington school district Tuesday night about the case. He said the school would be closed Wednesday due to the confirmed case and students would switch to remote learning.
“It is possible that remote learning could be extended for additional days depending on the individual circumstances of this situation,” Connellan said in the statement.
The letter stated that the school district and health department will conduct contact tracing.
The district plans to release more information Wednesday afternoon.
