PLAINVILLE — A town man faces a child pornography charge after police said they found videos and images on his electronic devices.
Matthew Yung, 30, of Metacomet Drive, was charged Wednesday with first degree possession of child pornography.
Investigators found at least 95 child pornography videos and 30 images on two cell phones and an iPad, according to Yung’s arrest warrant. Some of the children were as young as one-year old.
Local police started investigating Yung in March after receiving a tip from Homeland Security that an IP address in town was distributing child pornography through a computer app called Kik Messenger, the warrant said.
About a week later, Plainville police obtained a search warrant and seized Yung’s devices from his home. Yung told police he downloaded and uploaded child pornography for the past five years via Kik Messenger chat rooms, the warrant said.
Yung’s bond was set at $100,000.
