Urgent care vet opens in Plainville

PLAINVILLE – There’s a new veterinarian in town.

Dr. Valipe Satyender opened Veterinary Urgent and Well Care Center at 19 Pine St. last December and it didn’t take long for him to put a local pet owner’s mind at ease.

Joey Forcella’s cat, Dean Martin, had been constipated, and was vomiting. With Dean’s normal vet unable to see him, Forcella called Veterinary Urgent and Well Care Center.

With the pandemic slowing and things returning to normal, vets offices are very busy, and can be booked for weeks, if not months.

Satyender told Forcella to be at his office within the hour.

“He was wonderful,” Forcella said in a social media post. “It makes such a difference when you are stressed about a sick pet. And I cannot thank those of you who mentioned the new ER and wellness vet.”

Satyender graduated veterinary school in Hyderabad, India in 2004 and obtained his PhD in veterinary medicine from the University of Connecticut in 2011.

For more than 13 years, he has worked with pets of all ages, and with all types of ailments. “Most doctors are not prepared for the unknown stuff,” said Satyender, a board certified veterinary microbiologist.

Before setting up shop in Plainville, Satyender worked at the Connecticut Veterinary Center in West Hartford.

Veterinary Urgent and Well Care Center services include blood work, dental, microchipping, vaccines and radiology, to name a few. Also, Satyender offers a Wellness Program, where each year pets receive a comprehensive physical exam and age-appropriate ancillary diagnostics to screen for early signs of disease.

Veterinary Urgent and Well Care Center is open Monday through Friday 2 to 9:30 p.m., Wednesdays 6 to 9:30 p.m., and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, visit plainvillevet.com.
