Gaylord-North Haven expands footprint, services

Gaylord Therapy Services in North Haven has expanded its footprint and range of services. On April 11, the outpatient office at 8 Devine St. began to offer neurological therapy services to optimize the recovery of patients experiencing challenges with their physical, cognitive and language abilities due to stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s, brain injury, concussion, Guillain-Barré Syndrome and a number of other neurological conditions.

The expansion into the adjacent former Healthtrax Fitness & Wellness Center has more than doubled Gaylord-North Haven’s treatment space from approximately 5,000 to 12,500 square feet.

Patients will have access to new technologies to improve function and strength including the ZeroG overhead body-weight support gait and balance system; the BITS touchscreen to challenge visual and motor skills; and the AlterG anti-gravity treadmill that allows users to walk or run at a fraction of their body weight.

Joining Gaylord’s existing staff of North Haven orthopedic physical therapy clinicians are a team of physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech therapists, each with extensive experience providing neurological rehabilitation services at Gaylord’s Wallingford outpatient clinic.

In addition to its locations in North Haven and Wallingford, Gaylord operates outpatient physical therapy offices in Cheshire, Cromwell and Madison. For more information, visit gaylord.org.
