MERIDEN — The city transfer station hours are being extended this week to allow residents to dispose of branches and leaves following Tropical Storm Isaias.

The city is not offering curbside pickup but has extended hours at the transfer station to give residents a four to seven-hour window to drop off storm debris each day through Saturday. The transfer station will be open Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will be open Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon.

The station will also be open for bulky waste drop-off Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon. Residents must make an appointment for bulky waste by calling call (203) 630-4019.
