MERIDEN — Police have identified a 37-year-old man found dead inside a Hanover Road apartment last week.
Thomas Oldani, lived on the second floor of 763 Hanover Road. A representative from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner said the results of an autopsy for Oldani are pending further study. Police have said they found no signs of foul play.
Emergency crews responded to his apartment on Thursday around 11:55 a.m. for reports of an unresponsive man on the kitchen floor. Oldani was later pronounced dead. Hazardous chemicals and substances were found in the apartment, police said.
Fire crews along with the FBI, federal Drug Enforcement Agency, state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and the Meriden Health Department responded.
Charles Grady, FBI community outreach specialist, said Monday that the agency was supporting local police and he didn’t have any additional information.
According to DEEP, testing revealed trace amounts of chemicals in the apartment. Officials did not disclose the type of chemicals.
Crews were on scene until just before 8 p.m. Officers were sent to the hospital as a precaution due to possible exposure to the chemicals and later released.
