MERIDEN — A man faces charges after police said he was found with a handgun and narcotics following a report of a man chasing someone with a gun.

Johnny Irizzary, 25, no address listed, was charged Monday with criminal possession of a firearm, possession of narcotics, and interfering with police.

On Monday just before 11 a.m. police responded to the area of 122 Grove St. for a report of a person being chased by a man with a gun, Sgt. Michael Boothroyd said in a statement.  A suspect, later identified as Irizzary, ran away as police approached him.
