Police: A dozen shell casings found on Sherman Avenue in Meriden on Sunday

MERIDEN — Police are investigating after finding a dozen shell casings on Sherman Avenue on Sunday. 

Police responded to the area of 200 Sherman Ave. around 4:25 p.m. Witnesses reported hearing what they believed were gunshots around 2 a.m., but they did not call police until the afternoon, police spokesman Sgt. Darrin McKay said. 

There was no report of property damage or injuries, McKay said. 

On Aug. 17 police responded to the area of 17 Sherman Ave. for a report of gunshots around 1 a.m. Police found shell casings in the road and noted the home was struck multiple times. On Aug. 18 police responded to the area of 19 Sherman Ave. around 2:15 p.m. and found multiple shell casings around the home.
