MERIDEN — The annual fireworks display at Hubbard Park has been postponed until next week due to forecasted thunderstorms Saturday.
The show was originally planned for Saturday night at Hubbard Park. A cold front is expected to bring thunderstorms to the state on Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. The storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain.
Due to the forecast, the display was postponed until July 8. All of the same vendors will be at the event, Ebony Chrisholm, the city’s strategic communications specialist, announced Friday.
Castle Craig will be closed to the public on July 8 for the setup of the fireworks, she said.
