Man extradited from Massachusetts on gun, probation charges



MERIDEN — A man with outstanding warrants from multiple Connecticut towns was extradited to Meriden after being arrested in Massachusetts on illegal possession of ammunition charges in December 2022.

Christopher Purvis, 26, of Hartford was transported to Connecticut where police said he was served two warrants from Meriden, four Paperless Arrest Warrant Network (PRAWN) warrants from Bristol, Hartford and Middletown and additional warrants from Manchester Waterbury and Windsor.

Charges were levied against him out of Bristol, Hartford, Meriden, Middletown and Wallingford.

Purvis was charged with criminal posession of a firearm, illegal discharge of a firearm and is being held on $200,000 bond as a result of one Meriden warrant and was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, weapons in a motor vehicle, operating under suspension and first-degree failure to appear with a $150,00 bond in a second warrant.

He was also charged with breach of peace and second-degree failure to appear with a $5,000 bond in Bristol, interfering with police and second-degree failure to appear with a $500 bond in Hartford, two counts of violation a probation with a $100,000 bond in Middletown and interfering with police, disobeying an officer’s signal and second-degree failure to appear in Wallingford with a $15,000 bond.

Purvis could not be reached for comment.
