Meriden Poet: My Lost Summer

Tripped in my own home; broken bone upper arm

Boy oh boy did I ever do myself harm!

Was my right arm and I am right handed to

Had to live at a “therapy” place; hard to do

Many times wished I could walk right out the door

Was there for little over two months and more

Was going down him but now starting to go up

Not always hungry but eat breakfast, lunch and supper

Had company but not everyday and they cant stay

I’m bored I want to go home thats the way

Besides therapy lay on my bed, sit in my chair

Come morning wash up dress brush teeth comb hair

I didn’t get enough exercise body had gone weak

Days end I’d lay on my bed relax and sleep.

I’d red books, watch some TV talk on the phone
