New Cheshire business offers delicious, nutritious treats

CHESHIRE — Small businesses are usually owned and operated by individuals who care about more than just the bottom line.

Putting long hours and future financial hopes into a new endeavor requires commitment, one often born out of a personal connection that the owners feel to their establishment.

That’s certainly true of Beyond Nutrition, a new business nestled alongside the FIT 30 gym on South Main Street that aims to give residents a healthy post-workout treat.

Owner Nicole DeLuca and her cousin Sharon Morrison have created Beyond Nutrition to help residents get on the right track health-wise after the pandemic.

Battling to achieve a healthy weight is something DeLuca knows all about.

“Both my husband and I have lost over 100 pounds,” she said. “This is really something that we love to do and are crazy passionate about. This is low sugar, no preservatives or bad things going into your body — all natural stuff.”

The shop offers smoothies, shakes, teas and other beverages, along with smoothie bowls, protein bites, and treats for those looking for a healthy alternative to traditional breakfast or lunch.

“We wanted to create a place that really focuses on taking care of the individual, and our food does that,” said DeLuca.

Morrison is in charge of making many of the menu items.

“This is something that I truly love doing. We have a lot of fun and want to help to give people a healthier lifestyle,” she said.

The store has a large wall of inspirational quotes.

“We really wanted to just create a positive space more than anything,” said Morrison. “With all that has happened this year, we wanted to provide something positive, and delicious.”

Beyond Nutrition opened July 6, and since then they’ve had a steady stream of customers eager to try their beverages and smoothie bowls. With flavors like Peanut Butter Oreo Pretzel and Strawberry Oreo Cheesecake, the owners feel confident there is something that will appeal to everyone.

“This is a lifestyle that we both live authentically every day,” DeLuca said. “We are so happy to share it with this awesome community!”
