New Members New Voices is a group of like-minded individuals that stand for providing the highest quality education for our students and for building a stronger partnership with parents and community by promoting transparency and accountability.
Now more than ever people want to become more involved in education and New Members New Voices want to provide this opportunity by serving their community. Each member has many qualities that would be an asset to the Berlin Board of Education. We believe our voices, along with the voices of the Berlin community, can help make our schools stronger.
In these tough times, issues and obstacles have arisen in education we are all trying to navigate through. We want to hear your concerns and are open to all perspectives. The involvement of the community and parents helps our schools to thrive. Public education plays such a huge role in the lives of our children and their future. New Members New Voices want to provide the opportunities to work together toward common goals.

For those of you who do not have social media, here is a short introduction of all the candidates. Each member comes from different backgrounds and experiences within the educational system and understands the importance of education in the lives of our children and their future.
Rick DeDominics is a retired U.S. Air Force NCO and works for a large company in town. His son graduated from the Berlin school system. Melissa Gibbons is home with her two young boys and volunteers as an active member on the board at her son’s preschool and as a classroom mother for her oldest son in kindergarten. She is a certified art teacher and has put in eight years of teaching. Mary Kathryn LaRose is a retired teacher. She has dedicated many years working with inner-city children. Deborah Reed worked at several hospitals as a radiation therapist and is a longtime volunteer for several educational committees in town. All three of her children graduated from the Berlin school system. Gina Nappi spent 11 years as a homemaker and raising her children before returning to the workforce. She spent 16 years with Consulting Ophthalmologists and retired in 2020. Her children attended Berlin schools.
As parents and teachers, we want what is best for all children. We have the knowledge and experience to make the best decisions to improve our schools. In this trying time for education, Berlin needs new members with new voices. Thank you for allowing us to take this opportunity to serve our community. We would greatly appreciate your vote Nov. 2.
