WALLINGFORD — Sheehan swept singles in a 5-2 girls tennis rivarly win over host Lyman Hall at Doolittle Park on Tuesday evening.
Srivani Agnihotram topped Jill Barron 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and her Sheehan teammates followed suit.
Grace Waldron won 6-0, 6-1 over Savannah Farkas at No. 2. Crystal Gallagher was a 7-5, 6-1 winner against Maddie Kizer at No 3. Allyssa Cassella downed Kiera Farley 7-6, 6-2 at No. 4.
In doubles, Sheehan’s No. 1 team of Shreya Patel and Christina Cappola defeated Abbey Pallas and Robyn Honyotski 6-2, 6-2.
Lyman Hall won No. 2 doubles behind Bianca Vega and Olivia Vegliante, who beat Caroline Dighello and Rishima Patel 6-3, 6-2. Keertana Chagari and Abby Murphy got the best of Sheehan’s Olivia Robles and Daytona Scherb 6-4, 6-1 at No. 3.
Sheehan improved to 11-7. Lyman Hall, which won the first meeting of the season at Sheehan 4-3 on March 30, is now 12-9.
Berlin 6, Platt 1: Julia Misner won 6-0, 6-1 to account for the Panthers’ lone win in a CCC South Colonial match in Berlin.
Platt is 5-10 and Berlin is 5-9.
Southington 6, Tolland 1: The Blue Knights improved to 11-3 on the season and much of the drama in this CCC crossover contest was in doubles.
Southington’s No. 1 doubles team of Kate Hardy and Isa Miani dropped the first set and then overcame two match-points to win 2-6, 6-3, 11-9. Hardy and Miani won the match’s final four points to clinch it.
Also in doubles, No. 2 Gianna Wadowski and Avery Korp (6-1, 6-1) and No. 3 Jillian Watson and Ali Bruce (6-2, 6-3) won in straight sets.
Southington also had a trio of singles players win in quick fashion: No. 1 Abby Murphy (6-0, 6-0), No. 3 Chantelle Gimenez (6-0, 6-0) and No. 4 Riley Tindall (6-1, 6-1).
Wilcox Tech 5, Platt Tech 2: The Indians posted the CTC win at Milford’s Eisenhower Park.
Wilcox got singles wins from No. 3 Melanie Medina (8-2), No. 4 Xochilt Rangel (9-7) and No. 5 Kim Arjona (8-1).
Rosalinda Hernandez teamed with Luisa Avila for an 8-6 decision at No. 1 doubles. Ami Kaur and Perla Diaz were 8-2 victors at No. 2.
Lyman Hall 4, Foran 3: The Trojans swept doubles to highlight their SCC victory in Milford.
Lyman Hall’s No. 1 tandem of Jake Lynn and Jared Cervero prevailed 6-4, 6-1 as the Trojans improved to 9-9.
Alex Zelaya and Evan Smith won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2. Brady Campbell and Jackson Mailhot took care of business 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3.
Lyman Hall aso collected an important win at No. 4 singles, where Brian Fernando cruised 6-1, 6-0.
Southington 7, Manchester 0: The Blue Knights traveled to Manchester and rolled to the CCC interdivisional victory over the Indians.
Singles winners for Southington were No. 1 Matt Balaoing (6-1, 6-1), No. 2 Marek Kryzanski (6-3, 6-1), No. 3 Andrew Kudla (6-1, 6-1) and No. 4 Kade Huang-Savino (6-0, 6-0).
In doubles, No. 1 Nate Zmarlicki and Mike Kwok rallied to win via a super-tiebreaker 5-7, 6-2, 10-8/
No. 2 Adam Kosko and Kyle Narowol (7-5, 6-3) and No. 3 Jacob Sutton and Tyler Heidgerd (6-2, 7-5) won in straight sets.
Southington is 12-3 and Manchester falls to 8-4.
Cheshire 7, Sheehan 0: The Rams dropped just three games in posting the SCC victory on Tuesday in Cheshire.
No. 1 Utsav Subramani, No. 2 Yasha Laskin, No. 3 Yasin Tarabar and No. 4 Jacob Yale had the singles wins.
Doubles decisions were posted by No. 1 Nate Pisani and Ben Fritz, No. 2 Christian Kjeldsen and Keith Arneson, and No. 3 Matt Pisani and Josh Goldstein.
Cheshire completed its regular season at 12-5. Sheehan, now 9-9, has a rivalry match with Lyman Hall at Doolittle Park on Thursday, then closes at home on Friday against Wilbur Cross.
