FRIDAY SOFTBALL: Rams thrice go yard; Wilcox streak snapped at 8; Blue Knights blanked by unbeaten Bobcats

GUILFORD — Mia Juodaitis, Emma Watkinson and Lexie Hemstock all hammered home runs Friday to power the Cheshire softball team to a 13-3 SCC interdivisional romp over Guilford.

Watkinson finished 3-for-3 as the Rams upped their overall record to 14-3.

Juodaitis was 2-for-4 and so was winning pitcher Bri Pearson.

Bri Floyd added two hits in two trips and scored two runs. Sarah Capute, Emma Glover, Jade Barnes, Brigid Borland and Grace Lurz also had base knocks for Cheshire.

Guilford fell to 5-11.

East Hampton 14, Wilcox Tech 6: The Bellringers tolled the Tribe’s bell for five runs in the first inning and went on to end the Indians’ eight-game winning streak in a non-conference game in East Hampton.

Briana Brown took the loss for Wilcox (12-3).

Chloe LaBissoniere was 2-for-5 with one RBI. Alex Nissle and Leeana Ortiz both went 2-for-4 with a double and a RBI.

Platt: With a forfeit from Hartford Public, the Panthers improved to 7-7. They’ll look to secure a postseason berth Monday at home against Berlin.

Jonathan Law 9, Sheehan 0: The Titans dropped to 2-15 with the shutout loss to the Eagles in Milford. Law improved to 11-6.

South Windsor 5, Southington 0: The Blue Knights were blanked by the unbeaten Bobcats in a CCC crossover in South Windsor.

The shutout was the fourth in a row and ninth overall for South Windsor, which is now 16-0. Southington is 11-3.
