LETTERS: Fake POTUS, State Rep. Mary Mushinsky responds to op-ed

Fake POTUS

Editor:

Donald Trump works against U.S. alliances such as NATO, he strengthens the power of Russia while we become weaker, he is heartless, he has shut down a nation, preventing 850,000 valued  people from earning a living that cost our economy billions, he calls a free press the "enemy of the people", he works for a weakened electoral system, our courts and the erosion of our trust in valued institutions such as the FBI and the CIA, he attacks minorities, our environment, and our national security as he worships dictators who murder members of the press and others  in Saudi Arabia, North Korea, Turkey and the Philippines. He has been under investigation as a security risk by the FBI for years. He is a total embarrassment. We need to build a wall … around him.

Yes, he is Lyin' Don. He is a fake POTUS who does not "preserve, protect and defend the constitution of the U.S." Jail to the chief! Lock him up!  Not my president!

Paul E. Gradwell, Meriden

Upcoming legislation

Editor:

It has been a privilege to continue serving the people of Wallingford and I want to keep them updated throughout the legislative session.  An op-ed on Feb. 3 speculated on my position on certain proposals before the legislature. I will be testing some of these proposals in my annual survey of district opinions. We are in the initial stages of discussing proposed bills where I am also meeting with various stakeholders to gather thorough information before I make any decisions on bills I will or will not support. My priority remains the residents of Wallingford and representing their concerns at the Capitol. I encourage residents to contact me about their ideas and concerns. I want to work with them to move our district and state forward.

Mary Mushinsky, Wallingford

The writer is state Representative for the 85th District
