Fire damages home in Wallingford



WALLINGFORD — Firefighters responded to a house fire on Cedar Street late Monday afternoon.

The fire was reported about 4:45 p.m. at 131 Cedar St. Firefighters on scene reported heavy smoke and fire inside the home.

Firefighters said about 5:30 p.m. they were still trying to extinguish fire in the attic. Flames could be seen escaping through multiple holes across the roof.

The intersection of South Main Street and Cedar Street remained closed late Monday night as cleanup continued. Representatives from the Water Department and Electric Division were requested to the scene.
