TORRINGTON, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut health officials say they’re monitoring a water main break in Torrington that has affected at least 3,000 customers.
Officials say the break was reported Sunday morning on the west side of the city and Torrington Water Co. crews are still trying to find it.
State Department of Public Health officials say most of the west side is without water and a boil water advisory has been issued for the area as a precaution.
Authorities have sent Reverse 911 messages to all water customers in the area.
Officials say crews will repair the break as quickly as possible when they find it and the boil water advisory will be lifted after test samples come back clean.
A potable water filling station is being made available for affected customers.
