No injuries in Tuesday morning fire on East Summer Street in Southington



SOUTHINGTON — There were no reported injuries in an overnight fire at an East Summer Street home.

The fire was reported around 1 a.m. at 17 E. Summer St. When firefighters arrived, they found heavy smoke. The fire was extinguished within a half hour. Fire officials said firefighters had to contend with extremely cold temperatures and large amounts of ice.

The Plainville Fire Department responded for mutual aid.
