SOUTHINGTON — A Massachusetts man faces charges after police say he called 911 several times for assistance from the back of a police cruiser.
Jesse Barner-Walton, 39, of Webster, Massachusetts was charged with misuse of the 911 system and interfering with an officer.
On May 5, police received a call about an intoxicated person refusing to leave the Cadillac Ranch, 45 Jude Lane. Officers arrived and were providing Barner-Walton with a ride when police say he made several 911 calls for assistance from the rear of the cruiser.
Officers pulled over to prevent any more non-emergency calls to 911, according to police. Barner-Walton physically resisted as officers attempted to place him in handcuffs. A short struggle ensued without any injuries to the accused or officers, police said.
Barner-Walton is scheduled to appear in Bristol Court on May 13, 2019.
