MERIDEN — Red Room Grille closed in late June after its three-year lease expired, according to the property owner.
The bar and restaurant at 575 North Colony Road had served lunch, dinner and drinks and held a variety of entertainment and themed events since 2015.
Property owner Lingo Vaga said he plans to sell the space, along with a two-bedroom apartment above it. The property is currently up for sale.
Red Room Grille temporarily closed in December when its liquor license was suspended following a shooting at the bar that left one man with non-life threatening injuries.
The restaurant reopened with new security measures just before Christmas after an investigation by the state Department of Consumer Protection.
Owner James Green could not be reached for comment Thursday.
“We’re just in the process of trying to put everything back in order,” Green told the Record-Journal when the bar reopened last year.
Green said he felt the shooting drew undeserved negative attention to the bar and that having the business closed for a month was a financial hardship.
