MERIDEN – Police responded to an altercation outside the Meriden Courthouse early Thursday evening.
The incident was reported around 4:45 pm., after a group of “resistors” gathered outside the courthouse, at 54 West Main St., in support of a family member was being detained.
Police didn’t provide any additional details about the incident, including why the family member was detained, and said they had nobody in custody in relation to the altercation.
Police said the situation was being handled by state police because it occurred at the court house. A spokesperson from state police could not be reached for comment Thursday night.
