WALLINGFORD — A local man faces charges after police said he pistol whipped one woman and threatened another during a domestic dispute.

Christopher Esquilin, 37, of 52 Maple Ave., was charged Thursday with second-degree assault with a firearm, first-degree reckless endangerment, first-degree threatening, risk of injury to a minor and second-degree breach of peace.

Police responded to the Maple Avenue home on Sunday around 8:50 p.m. and met with two women. One reported Esquilin pointed a gun at her head, according to his arrest warrant. The other reported Esquilin struck her three times with the gun.

Esquilin was taken into custody on Thursday and later released on $50,000 bond. At an arraignment hearing in Meriden Superior Court on Friday, a judge ordered that Esquilin be placed on GPS monitoring. The case was transferred to the gun docket in New Haven Superior Court for Nov. 6.
