City man charged with second-degree assault in August incident



MERIDEN — A local man faces charges after police said he assaulted another man in August.

Stephen Miller, 37, of 40 Hillside Ave., was charged Saturday with second-degree assault and disorderly conduct. 

On Aug. 15, police responded to the area of 87 S. Broad St. for a report of a fight and found a man with injuries to his face.

The man told police the incident began when he was working at a job site and saw Miller and a second man yelling at him from across the street. When the man walked across the street, Miller and the other man struck him multiple times, police said.

Miller was arraigned in Meriden Superior Court on Tuesday. Bond was set at $10,000 and he is due back in court on Nov. 14.
