CHESHIRE — Police are waiting for a toxicology report from the medical examiner before they release details about a woman who was found dead last week off the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail, Lt. Michael Durkee said Monday.
Authorities previously said there was no threat to the public and that they were not “looking for any other involved parties.” Local and state police are investigating the Feb. 19 incident as an “untimely death.” The woman has not yet been identified.
Officers responded to School House Road and West Johnson Avenue Feb. 19 after receiving a report about suspicious items. The woman was found about 70 feet off the trail, and local detectives requested the assistance of the State Police Major Crimes Division.
