Berlin police: Local man charged after officers find 20 pounds of marijuana, $27k in home

BERLIN — A local man has been charged after police said they seized 20 pounds of marijuana, vaping cartridges, cocaine, and thousands in cash from his home.

Long Ngyuen, of 196 Wildermere Road, was charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell and possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell. He was held on $250,000 bond.

On Thursday, local police and members of the Statewide Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant at the Wildermere Road home after receiving information of a reported large-scale cocaine and marijuana operation at that address.

Deputy Chief Chris Ciuci said police seized about 20 pounds of marijuana, 200 THC vaping cartridges, 500 grams of cocaine and about $27,000.

While investigating, police learned Nguyen was subjected to an immigration detainer and warrant of removal, Ciuci said.
