Art Scholarship available
If you are furthering your education in the field of art, consider applying for the Irma P. Morse/Meriden Arts and Crafts $500 scholarship. This is the 19th year that this scholarship has been offered to a talented individual who has been accepted into a college of art related program. Applications are in the guidance offices at all three local high school, Platt, Maloney and Wilcox or can be obtained at the Gallery 53 on Colony St. Applicants are due by May 18.
Food vendors for the Daffodil Festival
The 40th annual Meriden Daffodil Festival Committee is actively seeking non-profit organizations, civic groups, fraternal clubs, church groups, school and neighborhood organizations to participate in the 40th annual Meriden Daffodil Festival as food vendors in the Silver Fork Food Tent. This year the Festival is scheduled for April 28 and 29.

The Scrabble Challenge, with a light supper, beverages, desert, a raffle and team prizes for the highest points team and the best literacy-themed costume. The event is seeking sponsors of $500-$5,000, Program Book ad sponsors which range from $50-$500, raffle prizes and registration of teams of four. There is a cost associated with playing. Proceeds of this fundraiser helps support free literacy classes for adults in Meriden and Wallingford.
